PFIC Colors: Raising Awareness with Ipsen

Back when we were founded, PFIC genetic conditions were not at all well known. Fast-forward to today and that hasn’t really changed. Awareness and education remain two of our top priorities. A pillar of the PFIC Network is to promote awareness and understanding of this rare group of inherited liver conditions that exist “under the radar.”

Our name says Network, and a lot of the work we do involves networking between interest groups and forming connections. We have been fortunate to network with pharmaceutical companies involved in researching and developing therapeutics for our community. And when priorities align, it can make good sense to join forces in getting the word out and steering families toward the trusted information they seek. By working together, we can expand our reach and impact. The new Colors Campaign is our effort with global pharmaceutical company Ipsen to expand awareness using search and social media.

Understanding PFIC through color

Families facing a PFIC diagnosis often describe the early days as overwhelming, confusing, and isolating. PFIC Colors is designed to help families make sense of these conditions and find the information and support they need, fast. In these moments, having access to trustworthy, community-developed resources can help bring clarity and light to what may otherwise feel like a daunting situation.

The story at the heart of the campaign is that PFIC is a disease of many colors. To help people navigate their way to factual, accurate and supportive information, we’ve connected with Ipsen to develop an engaging and positive campaign that will reach people on social media who are searching. This color‑inspired initiative is designed to help paint the picture of the full spectrum of resources available. It is focused on reaching those in the early stages of their PFIC journeys. And it aims to bring color back into people’s lives.

Explore the Colors of PFIC

By organizing information into six color‑coded topic areas and grounding every section in lived experience, our aim is to help families feel more confident and in control as they navigate their PFIC journey. Here are the six colors that introduce topics and lead to deeper educational content and community connection.
